“Madhya Pradesh Prepares for Assembly Election 2023: Model Code of Conduct Takes Center Stage”

Dhar, Madhya Pradesh – With the highly anticipated assembly election in Madhya Pradesh fast approaching, the model code of conduct has officially come into force, prohibiting any activities that could potentially influence voters. In a bid to ensure a fair and unbiased electoral process, Collector and District Election Officer Priyank Mishra has taken decisive action under Section 5 of the Madhya Pradesh Prevention of Deformation of Property Act 1994.

Under the new order issued by Mishra, various political parties, candidates, individuals, and organizations are strictly forbidden from writing slogans, putting up banners, pasting posters on government or non-government buildings, or engaging in election campaigning on electric and telephone poles without prior permission. Violations of these rules are not taken lightly; they are both punishable and cognizable offenses.

In a further move to maintain the integrity of the election, the use of public funds for advertising or exploiting official mass media for self-promotion and campaigning is also prohibited. This regulation is aimed at preventing candidates from gaining an unfair advantage by using taxpayer money for personal publicity.

To enforce these rules effectively and ensure swift action against any violations, a dedicated Public Property Security Squad has been deployed at every police station across the district. Their primary responsibility is to step up vigilance and promptly remove any banners, hoardings, or slogans that contravene the model code of conduct.

With these stringent measures now in place, the stage is set for a level playing field in the upcoming assembly election. The model code of conduct will remain in effect until the conclusion of the election, ensuring that the focus remains on policy, governance, and the will of the people rather than unregulated campaign tactics.
